What would Google Do?

The article, ‘What would Google Do’, displays the power the internet has on companies and organizations. Jeff Jarvis began a blog in spite of his frustration with his new Dell computer and the lack of customer service Dell was providing. Suddenly his blog was becoming increasingly popular and more and more people were commenting and agreeing. Soon, his blog posts were appearing on the first page of Google when someone searched Dell, only a few spots behind Dell’s home page. Dell continued to ignore his complaints until, they finally couldn’t ignore it anymore because there sales were decreasing and more people were jumping onto the “Dell Hell” bandwagon. The article is a perfect example of the impact blogging can have. Before the internet it would have been much harder for Jeff Jarvis to express his frustration to thousands of people, but now with a click of a button anyone can.
